Is this friendship green, amber or red?

Hello,

A free page for you this week.

Friendship Traffic Lights is a single checklist a child fills in for one friendship. Fifteen short statements, sorted into green (feels good most of the time), amber (something needs attention) and red (I need support). They tick what is true right now.

It is useful because most children can't say what is wrong with a friendship, only that something feels off. The page gives you both somewhere to start.

The second page is for you, with what to do with each colour:

Mostly green. Say so out loud. Children rarely hear that a friendship is going well.

Some amber. Ask which tick surprised them, and help them find one sentence they could say.

Anything red. Take it to the school with dates and specifics, and don't leave your child to handle it alone.

If it's useful, it comes from When Friendship Hurts, the full 36-page workbook for ages 9–13, which covers being left out, group chats, jealousy, repair and hard conversations:

Kind regards,

Emma
