“I don’t want to go.” Sound familiar?

Hi,

“My tummy hurts.” “What if something bad happens?” “I don’t want to go.”

You reassure them. You explain. And sometimes, the same worry comes straight back.

It can leave you wondering: What do I say now?

I created Brave Steps to help you and your child work through those moments together.

Developed from my 25 years of experience as a psychologist, this worry and anxiety workbook for ages 7–12 combines practical child activities with guidance for the grown-up helping them.

Together, you can practise:

  • noticing worried thoughts and body signals

  • using Pause, Consider, Choose to explore possibilities and decide what to try

  • breaking a difficult situation into small, manageable steps

  • responding to worry with warmth, encouragement and a shared plan.

The goal isn’t to make every worry disappear. It’s to help your child do more of the things that matter to them, even when they feel worried.

You don’t need to complete the whole workbook. Choose a relevant activity, talk it through and practise one small step.

$34 AUD · Includes the 44-page printable PDF and interactive version · Instant download

Warm wishes,
